F-7 Diesel Road Locomotives
In February 1947, the F-7 was introduced featuring a larger 36' dynamic brake fan, improved prime mover designs and traction motors. Production of all phases of F-7s totaled 2,366 cab "A" units and 1,483 booster "B" units, the largest quantities of any cab units. After production for hundreds of railroads, the F-7s were replaced by the F-9 in the EMD catalog in December of 1953.
SHS F-7s operate right out of the box on any layout with AF- compatible track and standard AC transformer, rectifier and/or rheostat control. Also included are all parts necessary to operate on DC or with code 110 RP-25 wheels. All roadnames are available in two numbers.
