Monon Route (Sept/Oct 2002) Here's a busy scene in north Lafayette. Gosport is across the aisle in the distance. The K-6 Pacific #450 was converted from an American Models Light Pacific using S Scale Loco and Supply castings and some extensive cutting and filing. The reefers are from Pacific Rail Shops and S Helper Service. |

Southern Pacific (Nov/Dec 2002) The crossing gate attendant, "Peg-Leg Pete," has lowered the gates, bringing traffic to a temporary stop. The wayfreight peddler, entering town with its 7-car consist, is powered by an S-Helper SW-9 switcher painted in the early S/P orange and black tiger-stripe scheme. The brakeman riding the front steps of the SW-9 exchanges a friendly wave with the Moduc Junction tower operator. |
